Ruby red lips!

Inspired by my upcoming study i decided to create a portrait with a focus on statement Red lips!
Red the colour of passion ! I hope you like it, it was stagnant for a while (sitting on my drawing table for a few months)...but with these big red lips i think it gave it life!
Created with lead pencil and colour pencils and pastels for the lips!

Make me up!

A new chapter in Love Birdy's creative ventures is nearly here!!
Im so excited to announce that I will be studying a Cert 2 in Makeup!
Even more exciting is that i will be learning with awesome makeup by Napoleon Perdis!

I will be learning Bridal makeup looks, exotic & day /evening looks and also learning the latest makeup by Napoleon Perdis at Fashion shows in Australia and Overseas!

Indian Jewels

Today I painted myself up in Indian inspired Jewels. It's something i have created for a friend, in India :).

I went to the shops and tried on shoes with my creation on, got a few stares...smiles from Indian ladies :) Ive also found that i like the idea of having a gem stone nose piercing (i hate needles tho and my last attempt at getting my ears pierced failed!).

so would it be bad just to wear a stuck on rhinestone as a fake ?

I entered my 'WitchDoctor" painting into the Burra Art Gallery- Portrait Competition! The work is from a photo i took my my body painting entry into the Australian Body Art Carnivale, held in Eumundi, QLD.

I didnt win a place, but heres a write up by Artivist:

“Witchdoctor” in oils by Brighde Taylor is a startling portrait of the artist’s
friend wearing body paint and a feathered head-dress low on the forehead,
causing the ear to stick out, engaging the viewers interest. The paint is too
thin for the power of the subject but this artist has a marvellous way with
organic textures, if not skin and sky. It will be interesting to see further
work from her in future exhibitions"
